Illustrations
Often used to visualize a story or setting, these are finished pieces that depict a moment or invoke a mood. A book cover might not depict an event in the story, but should suggest to the reader what they might find within, while a series of illustrations can expand on a theme.
Storyboards
Intended to pre-visualize a film, a storyboard prioritizes clear storytelling and accurate representation of camera angles and character emotions. They don’t need to be polished and clean, as long as they get the important information and mood across.
Sketches
Bobby lets his sketches stay a little loose and spontaneous. They’re often quick, sometimes unpolished, and usually on real paper. They can be preliminary drawings for more elaborate pieces, character studies, requests or just random doodles. These are some of his favorites.
Comics
A melding of story and art, comics take individual drawings and arrange them sequentially to form a narrative. A comic chooses important moments and presents them to the reader, letting them set the pace of the story and fill in the blanks that happen in between the panels.
